Weather: Brisbane's subtropical climate offers you day temperatures of 21 degrees Celsius in winter and 29 degrees Celsius in summer, so your clothes should be light, cool and casual. Distances: Brisbane is a one and a half hour flight, Sydney is a two and a quarter hour flight and Melbourne is just under three hours by air from Hamilton Island. Brisbane is the most northern capital city on Australia's eastern seaboard, lying approximately halfway between Sydney in New South Wales and the Great Barrier Reef in Northern Queensland. Airport: Brisbane's international airport is 13km from the city. Average Costs: Transfer costs from the airport $9 by bus, $25 by taxi. Transport: Environmentally friendly, reliable public transport includes an excellent bus and train network, large taxi fleet, high-speed catamarans and river ferries. There is also a free downtown bus loop servicing the inner central business district.

The coolest months are July/August with day temperatures around 21 degrees Celsius, nights around 10 degrees Celsius. The hottest season (January/February) has highs around 29 degrees Celsius with evenings around 21 degrees Celsius. So your luggage should be mainly light clothes, cool and casual.
