Hayman Island is one of 74 islands that make up the Whitsundays and one of only four that offer resort accommodation. Located in the Great Barrier Reef, the 400 hectares/988-acre private island provides guests with easy access to Heart Reef and one of the best beaches in the world, Whitehaven Beach.
The AUD 100 million transformation of InterContinental Hayman Island Resort is vast, so here are our highlights.
From beaches and garden settings to superyachts and restaurants, the Resort has a range of event spaces to choose from. Here are a couple to get you started…
The largest indoor space: Is the Langford Room. This event space has been completely refurbished and features high ceilings and views of Hayman Island Beach. The Langford Room can accommodate up to 330 guests seated as well as standing for a cocktail event.
The largest outdoor space: There are three to choose from: Coconut Grove, Lion’s Court and Hayman Island Beach. All three can accommodate 330 guests seated as well as standing for a cocktail event.
The most unique: Fancy an event on a deserted island? Langford Island is located 800 metres/2,625 feet across from Hayman Island and can accommodate 50 guests seated or 120 for cocktail events.
Access to Hayman Island is via a 60-minute luxury boat transfer or a 15-minute seaplane or helicopter flight from Hamilton Island. Hamilton Island Airport has direct services from Cairns, Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne.
