Launch of the MEA Business Events Australia mentor program

The Business Events Australia / Meetings & Events Australia Mentor Program was launched on Monday 1 September. This is a joint venture between MEA and Tourism Australia to grow the skills of the business events industry.

The inaugural program includes of 12 mentors and mentees participating in the six month program.

Joyce DiMascio, Head of Business Events Australia and Linda Gaunt, Chief Executive of Meetings & Events Australia encouraged mentors and mentees to learn from each other through the program.

The MEA/Business Events Australia Mentor Program offers mentees the opportunity to connect with an experienced ‘matched’ industry representative to discuss their career and future.

Mentors attended a half day training program developed and facilitated by MEA’s National Training & Accreditation Manager, Gaille Barr. Mentees also attended a one hour induction session – ensuring that they understand the mentoring relationship and are able to establish realistic expectations and set clear goals.
