Five of the best group activities in the Mornington Peninsula
Swing from the tree-tops
Swing, soar and surf through some of Mornington Peninsula’s most enrapturing countryside with Enchanted Adventure Garden. Located just a five-minute drive from Mornington’s famous Arthurs Seat, groups will come together exploring 9 hectares (22 acres) of parklands filled with mazes, canopy walks and tube slides before traversing an all-encompassing mixed ability course hanging from the trees of the highest summit on the peninsula.
A menu of bespoke corporate packages includes a two-hour session with an activities coordinator who will put teams to the test along a variety of treetop obstacle courses before braving the park’s top attractions - two tree-surfing zip lines flying delegates up to 170 metres (558 feet) through the air, leaving groups windswept and invigorated.
Under the sea with Mornington's friendliest resident
In need of a cooling off? Sail off the peninsula and dive into Victoria’s crisp, blue waters where a world of marine life is waiting to say ‘hello’. For an afternoon with one of the ocean’s friendliest inhabitants, Moonraker Dolphin Swims’ tailored group packages are perfect for groups of up to 20 people who want to get up close with Port Phillip Bay’s resident wild Bottle Nose Dolphins. A two-hour, fully-catered cruise gives delegates the freedom to enjoy snorkelling and diving at their own pace, and don’t be surprised if a few other friendly faces come along for the ride.
What's cooking?
Located on the grounds of boutique property Flinders Hotel sits Georgie Bass Cafe & Cookery, which lets delegates get their hands dirty in the kitchen while learning how to prepare gourmet farm-to-table food from renowned head chef Michael Cole. By keeping it fresh and local, groups will be using ingredients sourced from Mornington’s best farmers, dairies, orchards and wineries to create everything from canapes and mains to decadent desserts and sweets. Foodie themes on the menu include forage:cook:taste, where groups head to the hotel’s local farm to pick the produce before heading back to the kitchen to whip them together into a tasty dish. Suitable for smaller groups, an afternoon with the Georgie Bass team is an excellent introduction into local Victoria cuisine.
Unwind with nature
When rest and relaxation is needed, a day spent wallowing in Peninsula Hot Springs’ soothing geothermal waters is sure to hit the spot. Since the underground springs were first accessed 15 years ago, the luxury wellness centre has been attracting groups from far and wide with its vast thermal mineral pools and its complement of treatments. Four different types of saunas, hydrojet pools, and a reflexology walk are just a few of the ways delegates can unwind while engulfed in the nature surrounding them.
For an extra splash of luxury, groups can choose to unwind in privacy inside Peninsula Hot Springs’ Royal Moroccan Tent. Secluded from the rest of the venue, the space is a comfortable hideout for groups of up to 30 people, with indulgent breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea platters provided.
Time to tee-off
Mornington Peninsula has become one of Australia’s premier golf regions, with nine of the country’s top 80 courses - including three in the top ten - in the area. Groups can pick from the Portsea Golf Club, which offers tailored packages for delegates desperate to squeeze in 18 holes after an on-site meeting, or Bay Views Golf Course, which boasts arguably the best view of any green in the region with a location on the slopes of Arthurs Seat.
