Day 1: Take in the sights of Sydney Harbour
Morning
Discover Sydney Opera House, one of the greatest architectural works of the 20th century, which offers a range of tours in a variety of languages. Embark on a behind-the-scenes tour that takes your team inside the building’s famous ‘sails’ and ends with a surprise opera performance and breakfast in The Green Room. Over breakfast, listen to an inspiring talk by My Adventure Group’s James Castrission, an Aussie adventurer who’s trekked to the South Pole and kayaked across the Tasman Sea. Afterwards, visit Darling Harbour to get up close with a koala at WILD LIFE Sydney Zoo before enjoying lunch on the Koala Rooftop.
Afternoon
Sydney Harbour boasts 15 beaches and with another 23 to the north and 17 to the south offering hundreds of waterfront event spaces within a 30-kilometre (19 mile) radius of the city. To explore some of these world-famous waterways, charter a yacht with EastSail and cruise to a secluded harbour beach for an afternoon of swimming . Or for something more challenging, host a team-building exercise – such as a treasure hunt or sailing regatta – on board a fleet of yachts. EastSail can arrange activities for groups of six to 2,000 people. Throughout the afternoon, treat your team to platters of fruit or seafood, paired with soft drinks, beer and wine.
Evening
In the evening, board a water taxi to Cockatoo Island in the middle of Sydney Harbour, where your destination is the World Heritage–listed Convict Precinct. Built in the 1840s, this old convict jail offers indoor and outdoor spaces for up to 500 people. For larger groups, book the island’s industrial-style Turbine Hall, which can accommodate up to 2,000 people for a cocktail function.
Day 2: Cooking class, scenic flight and bridge climb
Morning
Begin the morning with a salute to the sun in a private yoga class in the Royal Botanic Garden, on the edge of Sydney Harbour. Afterwards, travel 20 minutes by car to Rose Bay where you’ll take to the sky with Sydney Seaplanes for a bird’s-eye view of the world’s deepest natural harbour. For an introduction to Australian cuisine, participate in a cooking class at Sydney Seafood School, located above Sydney Fish Market in Pyrmont. You’ll see a cooking demonstration by some of Australia’s top chefs, then be invited into the kitchen to recreate the same recipes. The chef will guide you and your team as you prepare your own delicious seafood lunch.
Afternoon
Follow your seafood meal with a visit to the BridgeClimb Express, to scale to the summit of the Sydney Harbour Bridge, 134 metres (439 feet) above sea level, in just over two hours. Take a moment for a team photo at the top, then descend to solid ground and explore The Rocks historic area with Dave’s Brewery Tours. This guided walking tour includes a range of behind-the-scenes brewery visits for groups of up to 100 people, including tastings along the way. Larger groups can organise a craft beer tasting at a venue of your choice.
Evening
The next stop is Bondi, a 20 minute drive east of the city, for dinner at Icebergs Dining Room and Bar, which boasts spectacular views of the ocean baths and Bondi Beach. Begin your evening with cocktails and canapés on the terrace before enjoying an Italian inspired seafood meal in the restaurant. The venue can accommodate 120 people seated or 250 for cocktail functions.
Day 3: Motorbikes, surfboards and shopping
Morning
After breakfast at your hotel, explore the beaches of Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs on a one-hour Harley Davidson ride with Wild Ride Australia. Once you reach Bondi Beach, participate in a surfing lesson with Let’s Go Surfing. The one-hour class, which will take you through the basics of surfing, has an emphasis on team-bonding to bring your team closer together.
Afternoon
Travel 15 minutes by road to the harbourside suburb of Watsons Bay for lunch at Doyles on the Beach. Indulge in platters of fresh prawns, oysters and crab at an outdoor table overlooking the harbour. Then after lunch, catch a boat transfer back to the city and spend the afternoon at Westfield Sydney on Pitt Street. The shopping centre is home to 250 fashion and homeware boutiques, including international labels and local designers. You can even book a private styling session in the Westfield Suite, where your team can enjoy a glass of sparkling wine while hearing about the latest fashion trends and accessories.
Evening
Once your team has dropped off bags at the hotel, head to Zephyr Bar on the roof of the Hyatt Regency Sydney. With views across Darling Harbour to the Glebe Point Bridge, this venue can accommodate up to 200 people for sunset cocktails. Complete your Sydney incentive program with a gala dinner at Luna Park’s Crystal Palace, which features two outdoor decks with views all the way from the city up the harbour towards Balmain.
