Byron Bay Program Pitch
From walking tours to fine dining in mainland Australia’s most easterly point, this three-day program gives you the chance to explore Byron Bay’s coastal pace of life and the bountiful food basket of its verdant hinterland neighbours.
Day one
Start your day at Elements of Byron and check in to one of the 202 award-winning luxury villas before taking part in an interactive workshop by the not-for-profit organisation, Seabin Foundation. Through solution-based learning, CEO and Byron Bay local Pete Ceglinski will guide you on ways in which you can reduce waste entering waterways and oceans.
After a poolside lunch at Summer Salt Bar, it’s time to hit the beach where the team at Lets Go Surfing will run a range of activities including tug of war, sand sculpting and surf relay games. Finish the afternoon off with a lesson in surfing or stand-up paddle boarding.
Transfer back to Elements of Byron to watch the sunset at the fire pit as you listen to music performed live by a local artist. Tonight, head to Elements’ private dining room at Azure Bar and Grill for a beer tasting hosted by local brewery Stone & Wood, followed by a degustation dinner.
Day two
Byron has been a mecca for yoga in Australia since the late 1980s, so it’s little surprise this town has its own form of practice called Purna Yoga. After breakfast learn about the importance of alignment and centred breathing with an extended private Purna session at Byron Yoga Centre.
Then it’s all aboard the Byron Bay Kombis to head to the heritage town of Newrybar where you’ll meet the people behind Harvest Roots Inc. Today Harvest Roots Inc includes sustainable farming, ethical reforestation and education programs. After a talk and tour of the Harvest grounds it’s a long lunch in the private dining room with food picked fresh from the garden.
Next transfer to Cape Byron Distillery in the nearby hinterlands. Here you’ll get the opportunity to tour the family-run distillery, which draws on natural ingredients from the surrounding 96-acre (39 hectare) farm, before finishing with a gin tasting. Head back to the sea to soak in views of the Pacific and enjoy a contemporary seafood dinner at Beach Byron Bay.
Day three
It’s an early rise on day three to transfer to Ballina for breakfast and coffee at Coffee & Kitchen before setting sail with Out of the Blue Adventures. A marine biologist will be onboard to talk you through the diverse ecosystem and help you spot the dolphins, birdlife and humpback whales.
After lunch at Three Blue Ducks at The Farm, it’s time to spark some creativity and confidence with a three-hour private painting session at Byron Bay Art Studio. Here artist and motivational speaker Irena Kirpichnikova will guide you to paint your own masterpiece.
Dinner tonight is in the nearby beach town Cabarita at Halcyon House. Here you’ll enjoy canapés and sparkling wine on the lawn before sitting down to a specially catered three-course meal at one of the country’s best restaurants Paper Daisy.
