Day 2
Start your day with breakfast before boarding your VIP helicopter to Shaw Vineyard Estate, where you will be treated to a winemaker tour of the vineyard and an exclusive cellar door private tasting experience. Tour Canberra’s cool climate wine region and stop by Poacher’s Pantry and Robyn Rowe Chocolates for a late lunch or afternoon tea.
Your evening’s activities begin with the iconic Last Post Ceremony at Australian War Memorial and a private tour of the memorial, where you will learn about the ANZAC’s diverse experiences of war and their enduring legacy. For dinner, head to Sage Dining Room in Braddon for a fine dining experience showcasing produce grown from their 240 hectare (600 acre) farm.
Day 3
Take a sunrise hot air balloon ride over the city and touch down on the grounds of Old Parliament House, Australia’s original home of democracy and government. Enjoy breakfast amongst 250 hectares (618 acres) of rolling hills and 94 forests at the National Arboretum Canberra, followed by a visit to the National Zoo and Aquarium, where you can feed giraffes, meet a meerkat or accompany a cheetah cub on its morning walk.
Lunch takes place in a trendy restaurant in NewActon or Kingston Foreshore, before an afternoon of activities around Canberra’s centrepiece Lake Burley Griffin – take your pick from a Segway tour, GoBoat ride, or a bicycle loop around the lake.
This evening dine amongst the stunning and unique architecture in the exclusive Great Hall at Australian Parliament House, where Australian politicians and media mingle. Finish with a nightcap in one of the city’s upscale bars – try Molly for a vintage affair or The Highball Express for a night of tropical vibes and salsa dancing.
Day 4
For adventure enthusiasts, a walk up to Mount Ainslie Lookout is the perfect way to start the day with a striking view of Canberra as a reward. After a coffee and breakfast in a Braddon cafe, take a short drive to Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve and join a local ranger to learn the history of the land and Indigenous tool and weaponry crafting techniques. You might also spot an emu, koala, kangaroo or maybe even platypus in their natural habitat. Alternatively, head to Stromlo Forest Park to test the world-class mountain biking trails available for riders of all levels.
If you’re after a more relaxed day, a High Tea experience in Hyatt Hotel Canberra’s heritage-listed Tea Lounge will set the tone for an afternoon of culture learning about the Australian Story at the National Museum of Australia, National Library of Australia or National Portrait Gallery.
