Celebrate food, wine and culture on this three-day program that explores Melbourne and Mornington Peninsula. Explore the city on immersive experiences for a taste of the city's fine dining, arts, urban and Indigenous culture. Further afield, discover award-winning cool climate wines, paddock-to-plate-menus and relax in luxury accommodation.
Day 1
Arrive in Melbourne and make a splash at URBNSURF, Australia’s first surf park, a short drive from the airport. Take a surf lesson and ride perfect waves in one of the four zones of this man-made, crystal clear surfing lagoon. Then, relax and refuel on a farm-to-table style lunch onsite at the Three Blue Ducks, overlooking the lagoon. Transfer 35-minutes by car to the Royal Botanic Gardens for a tour with an Aboriginal guide. A significant site for the local Kulin Nation, learn about customs, traditional plant use and connection to country. From here, a 7-minute drive takes you to the next generation digital gallery, Lume. Enjoy a cocktail function as vibrant artworks come to life on the floor and the four-storey high walls of the gallery in a multi-sensory experience. A short drive across the city, dine on the seasonal menu at Gimlet in the 1920’s heritage Cavendish House before you wander back to Flinders Lane to rest your head at W Melbourne.
Day 2
Start the day with an exclusive breakfast in the private two-storey art deco Alfred Place, then drive 1.5 hours south through beachside suburbs to the Mornington Peninsula.
At the cool climate Montalto vineyard take a guided exploration of the 75-acre (30 hectare) estate in Red Hill. Join the chef in the kitchen garden and learn about Montalto’s ‘Estate to Plate’ philosophy before a seated wine tasting in the Alto room, overlooking the vineyards.
Next, savour a 5-course lunch paired with award winning wines in the acclaimed Montalto restaurant. After lunch, explore the property’s extensive permanent sculpture exhibition.
From here, head to the Dunes Golf Links for a 9-hole round on the green between the rolling sand dunes. Or, head to the Peninsula Hot Springs to unwind in the tranquil spaces of the Spa Dreaming Centre with a sauna or clay wellness experience, followed by a warming soak in the natural springs. Rejuvenated, head to Jackalope, the 5-star property located on a private vineyard in the heart of the Peninsula where you will stay for the night and dine on a unique menu at Doot Doot Doot under a chandelier of 10,000 bulbs.
Day 3
After breakfast, return to the city to discover the newest sustainability venture at Melbourne Skyfarm (opening 2022), the 2,000 sqm (21,527 sq. ft) urban farm that has transformed the roof of a multi storey carpark. Tour the working farm and visit the rooftop orchard.
Wander through the central shopping precinct to the Farmer’s Daughters restaurant at 80 Collins Street. Lunch on fresh and woodfired produce from the Gippsland region before you take to the city’s colourful laneways on foot on a Melbourne Street Tour. Guided by a local street artist, witness the city’s murals and painted walls. This 3-hour tour ends at The Blender Studios where you will create your own street art design on a canvas or t-shirt.
Refresh, then head to Melbourne Park for your gala dinner at Centrepiece. The pillarless Grand Hall boasts floor to ceiling windows and an expansive outdoor terrace for guests to enjoy their last view of this culturally rich city.
