Cairns has plenty of great accommodation options, from five-star international hotels and resorts to island retreats.
With over 7,100 rooms and a further 620 in development, there’s no shortage of places to stay for large or small business events in Cairns and nearby Port Douglas and Palm Cove.
The Tropical North Queensland city has welcomed several new establishments in recent years, including three hotels from the renowned Crystalbrook Collection.
Luxury in the tropical city of Cairns
The Pullman Cairns International Hotel, located in the heart of the city and just a short walk to the Cairns Convention Centre, features 321 guestrooms, an on-site restaurant, bar, business centre and 24-hour reception.
While The Reef Hotel Casino has 127-rooms each with their own spa bath and private balcony overlooking Cairns city or the iconic Trinity Inlet.
Cairns recently welcomed three new five star resorts by the Crystalbrook Collection - one of Australia's leading sustainable and innovative hospitality brands. The first, Riley, opened in November 2018 and offers 311 guestrooms. Bailey (220 rooms) and Flynn (311 rooms) followed, opening in late 2019 and early 2020, with views overlooking Cairns’ city skyline.
Stay nearby in Palm Cove or Port Douglas
Palm Cove is located a 20-minute drive from Cairns airport and forty-minutes from Port Douglas. This coastal village is home to a range of luxury hotels including the 143-room Peppers Beach Club & Spa Palm Cove, which offers an on-site restaurant, various meeting and event spaces, and features a lagoon style pool.
Just one hour away from Cairns, beachside Port Douglas offers a range of resorts for incentive groups, one of which is the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Port Douglas. The five-star beachfront resort has 295 spacious suites, as well as noteworthy ‘swim out rooms’ with direct access to one of the nine pools. Guests can also tee off at Mirage Country Club, the resort’s 18-hole golf course or dine at one of the restaurants on site.
