Under the Business Events Australia brand, Tourism Australia offers the Australian business events industry opportunities throughout the year to meet and do business with qualified international business events planners and decision-makers.

This includes creating a platform for industry to meet buyers at major trade shows such as IMEX as well as organising events exclusively for the Australian business events industry including the Business Events Australia Greater China Showcase and Australia Next, our signature incentive showcase for international business events planners and media.

Upcoming events

Where: Cairns/Gimuy, Queensland
Timing: 8-11 September 2024

Previously known as Dreamtime, Tourism Australia's signature incentive showcase will now be called ‘Australia Next’ to align with Business Events Australia’s bespoke magazine for incentive planners.

The incentive showcase is designed to increase awareness of Australia as an outstanding incentive destination. The event provides the Australian business events industry the opportunity to connect with qualified incentive buyers from around the world, while showcasing Australia’s best incentive experiences and products.

Australia Next will be held in Cairns/Gimuy, Queensland, in partnership with Business Events Cairns & Great Barrier Reef.

2025 dates are 1-4 December 2025.

Timing: 7-10 October 2024

IMEX America is the USA’s largest meetings industry trade show. It is a global exhibition event for incentive travel, meetings and events that attracts thousands of professionals from the USA and internationally. With more than 3,000 hosted buyers attending, IMEX America provides opportunities for business, networking and education.

2025 dates are 6-9 October 2025.

Timing: 19-21 November 2024

IBTM World - the live show will take place from 19 to 21 November 2024 and will incorporate one-to-one meetings between exhibitors and buyers, as well as a knowledge program, with a range of targeted education sessions.

Business Events Australia is not attending in 2024.

Timing: 23-25 March 2025

The Business Events Australia Greater China Showcase will be held in Xiamen, China with Chinese buyers (incentive agents and corporate customers) meeting face to face and engaging with Australian sellers via one-on-one appointments.

The Business Events Australia USA roadshow will visit three cities in North America to promote Australia’s offering to the corporate/incentive and association business planners community in each destination.

The Meetings Show Asia Pacific, organised by Northstar Travel Group, is the premier trade show gathering event organisers and suppliers to connect, contract and forge new partnerships within the global business events industry.

Discover leading destinations, venues, hotels and other key business events suppliers, complemented by an exclusive hosted buyer programme, bringing senior meetings, conventions, events and incentives buyers to a bustling tradeshow floor.

At this stage, Business Events Australia is not attending in 2025.

IMEX gives the Australian business events industry the opportunity to meet influential international buyers responsible for organising corporate meetings, incentive travel programs and association events.

Dreamtime is Tourism Australia’s signature biennial incentive showcase, designed to increase awareness of Australia as an outstanding incentive destination.

The event provided the Australian business events industry the opportunity to connect with qualified incentive buyers from around the world, while showcasing Australia’s best incentive experiences and products.

Presented in partnership with Business Events Adelaide, Dreamtime 2023 took place from 7 to 9 November in Adelaide/Tarntanya, South Australia prefaced or followed by a famil destination visit for international agents and media.
