First impressions: After a A$70 million dollar refurbishment the much anticipated five-star Sofitel Sydney Wentworth is open for business. This heritage-listed curved, single brick building has been an iconic Sydney landmark since it first opened in 1966. Step through the bronze façade into the spacious open-plan lobby where overhead candle-inspired lighting gives a nod to a Sofitel tradition. Hues of sand and green against wood-lined walls and contemporary lounge spaces create a relaxing guest space with modern touches leading to tilda, the ground floor restaurant.
